Beyond Sunday Morning

The old worship song says, “Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me. Take me, break me, melt me, mold me. Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me.” In Ephesians 4:11-14 the Apostle Paul said, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
We love to read Christian blogs, listen to Christian Radio, and hear inspiring messages at church. But there is so much more to the life God has called us to. God gave us all of these wonderful tools with these aims in mind. First, that we might be equipped for the work of ministry. Second, for the building up of the body of Christ, and third, that we might mature unto the fullness of Christ.
Spirit of the living God, won’t You fall fresh on us today? Take us, and if You must, break us, melt us, and mold us that we might be formed into the image of Christ! How I pray our relationship would move far beyond Sunday sermons, Christian books, radio, and blogs. I pray we would be transformed into the image of Your holy Son, Lord God! Forgive us I pray for the times we selfishly wanted all of Your blessings without desiring to bless others in return. May we go far beyond reading about You, hearing about You, and learning about You. May we boldly and sacrificially serve You! Holy Spirit how we need a fresh anointing from You! We are desperate for You! Our culture needs You! Your Church needs You! Come and have Your way in us I pray, in Jesus Name! Amen!
