The Generation of the Righteous

King David said in Psalm 14:1-3

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
    They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
    there is none who does good.

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
    to see if there are any who understand,
    who seek after God.

They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
    there is none who does good,
    not even one.

He went on to say in verse 5, “There they are in great terror,
    for God is with the generation of the righteous.

Today, like in the time of King David, we find ourselves living in a culture of moral corruption and abominable deeds where doers of good are hard to come by.  What we as a society are in desperate need of, what we the family of God in Christ are in desperate need of is the power and presence of the living God manifest in our daily lives!  The wicked will tremble when God is with us and God is with the generation of the righteous!  May we in this generation, be the generation of the righteous!

Father in Heaven, holy is Your most magnificent Name!  Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in this generation as it is in Heaven.  Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us of our abominations and corruption as we forgive those who have sinned against us.  Lead us not into temptation but deliver us by Your great and awesome power from the work of the enemy.  Yours is the Kingdom, so may we live for Your Kingdom, Yours is the power, so may we live by your power, and Yours is the glory, so may we live by your glory, in this generation and forevermore!  In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray, AMEN!
