Intimacy with God

A Christian Minister once wrote, “Where the mind goes, the man follows,” they went on to say, “Where the mind goes, the mouth follows.”  When we have a worldly mindset we follow the passions of our flesh.  We crave the sins of the world and are filled with the bitterness and hatred, condemnation  and judgment that flows from pride.  The Apostle Paul taught us a powerful truth through his prayer in the book of Ephesians.  Ephesians 3:16-19 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

We notice a few things in this passage.  First, the power we need for our lives comes from the Holy Spirit.  Second, we are rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, and know the love of Christ before we are filled with His fullness.  This is paramount because we need to understand the correlation between our intimacy with God in Christ, and the victory we desire for our lives.

If we desire a movement of God in our families, churches, and communities it begins in our prayer closet.  It begins with a passionate pursuit of God’s truth through His Word.

His is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory, so let’s live for His Kingdom, by His Power, and to His glory.
